Art Classes for Kids

Classes for Toddlers:

Most parents underestimate their toddlers' art abilities! After a few sessions, most kids stop eating crayons and actually enjoy learning how to scribble. It develops their fine motor skills, and makes for some treasured keepsakes for Mom & Dad.

My toddler Art Classes help focus on:

Learning colors

Learning how to use various art supplies

Learning about textures (slippery paint, gooey playdough, etc)

Creating some keepsakes for Mom & Dad (and other relatives) to treasure for years to come.

Classes for Pre-schoolers:

At about 3 years of age, most children are beginning to feel a sense of accomplishment about their artwork and are also beginning to understand how to represent various objects and emotions in their art. This is an exciting time to begin a lifelong relationship with art!
Classes for this age group focus on:

Experimenting with various media to explore texture, color, and shapes
Using Natural objects in art (flower presses, stone painting, etc)
Basic color mixing (yellow and blue make green!)
Studying shapes and comparing sizes
Having fun with art! A pleasurable experience (no worries about mess) will create a lifelong love of art!
Classes for Older Children & Teenagers (ADULTS are welcome, too)

Classes for older children are more advanced.
Projects will include:
Use of various media to study still-life
The essential portfolio element: the self-portrait
An experimentation with mixed media
Creation of masks and other art objects
Design-your-own project - older children and teenagers LOVE designing their own: notebooks, tote bags, and other items. Projects vary according to season.
IF you would like for your child to explore a little deeper into the arts, I would be happy to do one on one sessions as well.
